The Extra Mile — Tom Scott

Overview

These videos were part of my Advanced Graphic + Broadcast module at the start of my final year at university. We were briefed to making any form of media that included both pieces of video and forms of digital graphics and with that I chose to combine my interests and make a film from it.

I made a Short Film originally called ‘It’s Time to Move’, but upon reflection changed to ‘The Extra Mile’.

“My first idea was to create a film about running, with the narrative to be of each characters experiences on the run up to a race they were participating in.”
However,
“Upon reflection, my idea changed for my film to cover the same concept as before but to only follow one characters story. For this idea I asked my friend Fraser to act for me. I found that covering one character through this journey would help me capture their thoughts and emotions more precisely.”
