Summary
This was part of my Interactive Media Design module during my second year at university.
This brief required the design of a fun, accessible interactive learning tool to support the National Curriculum for Science, aimed at children in Key Stages 1–3.
I decided to create a game focused around different weather conditions, where the user has to match the correct name with the correct image.
I used a variety of skills in this project including designing wireframes, uses of Adobe Illustrator to create the scenes and front-end web design including HTML, CSS and Javascript.
Design process
Low fidelity prototypes
Building the components
I built the shapes and objects in my scene using Illustrator. I wanted to use primarily rounded shapes as children engage with them better rather than straight, pointy edges.
Construction of scenes
When prototyping these wireframes, I was advised to make it more appealing for my intended young audience. Where the frames of the different weather conditions are, I added a house so the weather was affecting something.
